Getting started3 questions
What is a nutrigenomics report?
Nutrigenomics is the science of how your genes affect the way your body uses nutrition. A Noorns report reads the genes in your raw DNA file that matter for one area of health, like methylation or histamine, and turns them into a ranked, food-first list: what to eat more of, what to ease off, and which nutrients and supplements deserve a closer look.
Which report should I start with?
If you're not sure, most people start with the Methylation and Diet Report. It's our broadest look at how your genes shape the way you use food. If something specific is on your mind, start from that concern on the homepage, where each one shows the reports that look at it.
Is this the same as 23andMe or Ancestry?
No. Those services give you ancestry and broad health results. Noorns reads the raw file they let you download and goes deep on nutrition: which foods, nutrients and supplements matter for your genes.
Your DNA file3 questions
Do I need a new DNA test?
Not if you've already tested with a consumer DNA service. Download your raw data file from that service and attach it when you generate your report. If you've never tested, see which kit we recommend.
Which DNA files work?
Raw data files from these services work today:
- 23andMe
- Ancestry
- MyHeritage
- SelfDecode
Tested somewhere else? Email info@noorns.com and we'll tell you whether your file works. We're adding more.
How do I get my raw data file?
Each service has a download option in your account settings. When you go to generate your report, we show you the steps for your service.
Privacy2 questions
Is my DNA file uploaded anywhere?
No. Your report is built in your own browser, so your DNA file stays on your computer and is never uploaded or stored. We keep only what your order needs, like your name and email.
Do you keep a copy of my report?
No. The report is made on your computer, so save the PDF when it's ready. Each purchase includes up to three report runs, for a retry, a lost PDF or an updated version.
Getting your report3 questions
What happens after I buy?
We email you a link to sign in. You attach your DNA file there and generate your report.
How long does it take?
Three to ten minutes, depending on your computer. Keep the window open while it runs.
What if something goes wrong, or I want a refund?
You can get a refund within 14 days of purchase if you haven't accessed or started generating your report. If your file can't produce a report, we'll reset your run or refund you. If something else goes wrong, email info@noorns.com and we'll do our best to make it right.
The science3 questions
Is this based on research?
Yes. Every gene and nutrient link in a report cites the published study behind it, so you can check the science yourself. The way a report weighs those links into one ranked list is Noorns's own method.
Will it tell me which supplements to take?
Each report ranks nutrients and supplements by how much they matter for your genes, food first. Treat it as information to bring to your doctor or practitioner, not a prescription.
Does it replace my doctor?
No. A report shows tendencies in your genes and gives you food and nutrient priorities to explore. It doesn't diagnose anything. Your genes point you to where to look, and lab work with a practitioner measures what's happening in your body today. Used together, each makes the other more useful.
Price and buying3 questions
Is it a subscription?
No. Each report is a one-time purchase.
Do I need several reports?
No. Start with one. Some reports are broad and others focus on one area, so you can add more later if you want to go deeper.
Why do your reports cost less than others I've seen?
Reports are generated automatically, on your own computer, which keeps our costs low.
